18th century minature map of Surrey published by George Augustus Walpoole and Alexander Hogg (London), engraved by Thomas Conder. Decorative title cartouche and cat of arms. Features Soutwark, Kingston, Croydon, Woking, Guilford, Godalming, Dorking, Epsom, Farnham and Haselmere.

Condition: Good imprint, later hand colouring, trimmed to border on left and lower margins.

George Augustus Walpoole (or Walpole)
A British topographer responsible for only one notable cartographic work , The New British Traveller which appeared in 1784. This was a five part work and Walpoole was assisted by A Society of Gentlemen. The folio atlas contains 23 plates most showing two orin some case four maps of the English counties. Most maps were engraved by Thomas Conder, the signature of Hatchett does appear on the County of Devon.
